The Business Workshop @ Umpqua
February 1, 2017
Umpqua Community Room, 146 West Second, North Bend, WA
Doors & Lunch Starts at 11:30, Program 12-1 PM
Guest Collaborators Dave Eiffert (GM & Partner, Snoqualmie Falls Brewery), Luke Talbott (Compass Outdoor Adventures, LLC) and Colleen Lenahan (Marketing Coordinator, Encompass NW) join me for a robust discussion on creating social media content.
Twitter. LinkedIn. Facebook. Instagram.
For some it works. For others it is a mystery.
How we communicate with each other has changed. How we find new clients has changed.
Today we’re creating virtual communities. How does that translate into sales?
If you want to get better at reaching, engaging and enthralling others you need more tools in your tool box. The message is different. The tempo too.
One thing is for certain: the game has changed. Advertising is no longer about pitching a product or service; it’s making a human connection.
The more we are into communicating through text messaging ,posts to our favorite social media outlet or simply get absorbed by our cell phone that is much more powerful than desktop computers of 15 years ago; the more we long for a connection.
Try two different posts. One says “look at me”, the other says “look at this cool thing I found”. Which gets the most likes? You probably know the answer.
Join us.
Share what you have found and learn from others.
It’s peer-to-peer learning. That was the whole idea when a group of us got together. Not a program around a talking head. People who are experts because they’ve done stuff that works. They are willing to share what they learn. And you can walk away an hour later just a little smarter. You’ll have something you can implement right now.
Here is a bonus. There’s no cost to attend. No membership. No commitment. Come as often as you like. You’ll meet new friends and perhaps rekindle old ones. Bring your laptop (we have free Wi-Fi), business cards and for this special get-together, I’m making Chicken Street Tacos. Just send me a quick RSVP – robertwotton@umpquabank.com – to let me know you are coming.
All my best,
Rob Wotton
